LA Experience
|
| Program directors and owners do not work in the entertainment industry outside of their company activities. Their only trip of the year to LA may be the program itself. Guests and judges are paid thousands of dollars to come to each event. Celebrity “former students” are paid a large sum of money and usually have never attended one event or class hosted by the company. | Sister company Dolphin Entertainment, founded in 1996, is an Emmy-nominated producer of children’s and young adult programming including Nickelodeon hits Zoey 101, Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide, and Nickelodeon’s first musical Spectacular!, with established operations in production, distribution, merchandising and licensing. As one of the leading independent producers in our industry, we have current, solid, and relevant relationships with the top players in Hollywood. |
| No price given up front. Hidden fees & extra costs for programs, usually adding up to at least $10,000 (including travel and accommodations). | Cost is $2,500 for admittance to all seminars and events for both the student and their parents or guardians (travel and other expenses not included: estimated $2,000 for the week). |
| Participants must sign a management contract with hosting company and pay a percentage of any job earnings to said company on top of agency fees for the rest of your career. | Dolphin Talent does NOT make participants sign any management contract . |
| Attendance is unlimited, often leading to thousands at one event. These thousands perform on stage in a convention hall, competing against other participants. | Attendance is limited to 12 families and teachers per group. Participants are selected through an application and audition process. We conduct intimate performance workshops and seminars, in a friendly, safe, nurturing and noncompetitive environment. |
| Education is considered a completely separate entity with little assistance on how to pursue both your education and your career. | An opportunity to visit local schools in the Los Angeles area. |
| Parents are expected to babysit their children between competitions and rarely have the opportunity either to see performances or have their questions answered. Teachers are rarely invited to attend. | Parents and teachers are an integral part of the program, invited to attend and participate in each seminar. |
